1. Smeg BCC02
Designed by Milan-based firm Deep Design, this sleek compact machine blends the brand's inimitable retro style with modern technology. The machine is able to handle all the stages of making coffee from grinding beans to the tamping of a puck and texturing milk before dispensed the right amount.
The machine also sports an elegant brushed aluminium front and comes in a choice of red, black or taupe, so it's easy to integrate into the majority of kitchen designs. It's not without its shortcomings however: the majority of reviewers thought it was a bit expensive for a bean to cup maker (and it doesn't come with a milk pitcher).
There were numerous glowing reviews about this machine's user-friendliness and the quality of its coffee. The digital display offers information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire brewing process that will help you improve your coffee every time. It will even alert you to adjust the grind size if it's not exactly right. It's almost like having a personal barista at home (minus Harry Potter's invisibility cloak and Elon Musk's rocket-building expertise).
If you prefer drinks with milk, this model features a steam wand that's adjustable in both directions to accommodate all drinking vessels, but not the Viking's drinking horn. We were impressed with the speed and efficiency of the frothing procedure, too. It creates an excellent, full-flavoured, delicious espresso with a wonderful crema.
The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder, quiet and efficient and offers superb value for money at the current price of PS499. The only issue is that it does not provide the same level of customization as other bean-to-cup machines that we have tested. It has a 15 bar pump instead of the usual 19 bars which isn't as effective for producing quality espressos. But other than that, this is a fantastic machine to make coffee for those who like their coffee strong and black. 2. Melitta Barista TS Smart
The Barista TS Smart has a number of features that set it apart from the competition. Its most unique feature may be the fact that it can be controlled via your smartphone with the Melitta Connect App. This allows you to change settings and dispense different coffee recipes that are stored in the machine itself.
This makes the machine flexible and adaptable to your personal preferences. There are a variety of options to change the intensity of your drink, cup sizes and even if you would like milk added. The machine has two airtight bean containers that are automatically sorted for different specialities. It defaults to standard espresso beans in one and cafe creme (a German variation of long black or flat white) in the other, but you can choose whatever beans you like. There is also a chute that can be used for pre-ground beans if you want to use your own.
Users have also been impressed by the speed of the machine. It's faster than other machine they have used. The machine also alerts you when one of its hoppers is nearly empty. This way, you won't run out of your preferred beverage.
The price tag may be a problem for some. This machine is not cheap, costing nearly PS999. But, it's cheaper than comparable Jura machines with the same features.
Barista TS smart is covered by a two-year guarantee. This is a greater warranty than the typical one-year guarantee. It's a sign of confidence on behalf of the manufacturer. The machine includes a cleaning tablet as well as an descaler. This makes it simple to maintain the machine. This is an excellent machine for those who are looking for a high-quality and versatile bean-to-cup machine that's affordable.
